When attempting to characterize PCC, there are generally certain property values of the products that are first determined. This provides the user with data to enable him to select the products concerned in advance for use in various areas of application. The values of different properties are determined by means of stipulated test procedures.
The mean property values of products are generally reproduced in data sheets as typical characteristic data. Besides the characteristic data there are also threshold values for all parameters within which the analytic values must lie. With these specifications we supply constant products within the stipulated limits.
Just as important as the property values themselves are the testing methods used to determine them. Most of the methods for checking and determining the properties of products are laid down in national or international standards (ISO, EN). In addition, certain Solvay-specific product characteristic tests are also applied for SOCAL® and WINNOFIL®.
