The Solvay Group is organized into four sectors from which the chemical sector is one. In order to become a more effective supplier, focused on customer needs, the Chemical Sector was further divided into eight Strategic Business units (SBUs). These SBUs have overall responsibility for their range of products.

The objectives of this new leaner and more entrepreneurial organisation are:

Solvay Advanced Functional Minerals, responsible for the SOCAL® and WINNOFIL®  products, is all that.

The SBU develops, makes and sells Precipitated Calcium Carbonate products. It sets the strategic, commercial and operational policies for the business that satisfy the needs of its customers throughout the world.

The headquarter of SBU is in Rheinberg (Germany) and production is assured by five different plants, based in Rheinberg (Germany), Lostock (England), Ebensee (Austria), Salin-de-Giraud (France) and Angera (Italy).
